Katerina is a Finnish Bulgarian artist. She runs labels Émotsiya and Kotarak releasing music from the likes of Sansibar and Exploited Body. She’s an active touring DJ and a producer releasing music on labels such as Running Back, Cómeme, Hivern Discs, Tigersushi and Rhythm Section. This is the first remix she has done of Construction.

“I was nervous when I started making this remix, as I'm always, because I care so much about music and I want to achieve something special. I want people to feel what I'm feeling. w That tension you feel throughout your body when you meet someone that captivates you or those moments of excitement before a really good audience that ultimately strips you of all of your fears,” says Katerina.

ABOUT CONSTRUCTION

Construction is an electronic music collaboration between Nadya Peek and Marko Ahtisaari. Peek and Ahtisaari met at MIT while fabricating on a large CNC mill. The original track Nervous is from the band's second ep WE'RE GREAT THANKS FOR ASKING (2020) produced by Pat Dillett (David Byrne, Brian Eno, St. Vincent) and mastered by Guy Davie (Jon Hopkins, King Krule, Four Tet). It was recorded while the band was working in the evenings at their friends' Nervous System design studios who created the generative cover art for the remix.

ABOUT NERVOUS SYSTEM

Nervous System is a generative design studio that works at the intersection of science, art, and technology. Drawing inspiration from natural phenomena, they create computer simulations to generate designs and use digital fabrication to realize products. Their studio is located in the Catskills in Palenville, NY.
